Scientist of international renown and champion of human rights, determined advocate of female emancipation and successful author. Influential both for the importance of her discoveries and the clarity of her actions and her constant commitment to social and civic causes. As her latest book is published she is already at work on the next, all the while continuing her scientific research and working with the Fondazione Levi Montalcini, established with her twin sister in the name of their father to help young people in making their choice of a professional future. And yet she says, "work has never been an effort for me". Rita Levi Montalcini turns ninety, and "Ten Nobels for Future" wants not only to celebrate the occasion but also to honour the power of the example she sets and the consistency of her experience as a woman, scientist and citizen.
